Located on the Maumee River, the city of Maumee was once a major shipping port linking the East and West. The quaint suburb has a lot to offer for those considering buying in the area. The Ohio Chamber of Commerce ranks Maumee #28 on the list of “Best Cities to Live in Ohio” and Maumee was formerly named an “All American City” by the National Civic League.
The Maumee School District is ranked in the top 33% of all Ohio school districts. The high school boasts a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center that seats nearly 800 as well as a brand new football stadium. Kazmaier Stadium, named after Maumee alumni and Heisman recipient Richard Kazmaier, underwent a nearly $2 million renovation in 2018.
Uptown Maumee is lined with long-standing small businesses. Some local favorites include Dale’s Bar and Grill, The Village Idiot, Georgette’s Grounds and Gifts, and the iconic Maumee Indoor Theatre.
